New York Nights

A couple weeks ago I traveled to New York to attend the annual Advertising Women of New York Conference. It was so inspiring to hear such powerful women in the industry speak about their experiences and learn more about what it takes to be a total #GIRLBOSS. One speaker in particular left me with what I consider to be one of the most valuable pieces of advice I’ve heard in my 21 years, she told us “don’t dress for the job you have, dress for the job you want.”

I remind myself of this quote every day when I’m getting dressed for class, work or just to run around town. I think there is so much value and truth to this statement, because appearances and first impressions really do make all the difference. Any time I need to up the ante of an outfit, I always go straight for this Free People vest. Coupled with my FAVORITE necklace from Kendra Scott’s winter collection, this vest really makes the outfit. On a side note: we took these photos in Madison Square Gardens at Shake Shack. And if you don’t know what Shake Shack then think of it as burger heaven on earth. These photos also really make me want to be back in NYC, so¬† there’s that.
