Last weekend I hopped in the car with my best blogging gal pal, Laura Leigh from Louella Reese, and headed down to Atlanta for the weekend to stay with our third musketeer, Emily from The Style Hunt. These girls have been such a blessing to me and we always have so much fun vacationing together! Atlanta was definitely one for the books, and I'll be breaking down all the fun stuff we did (or mainly, ate!) in the coming weeks. However before I go into the details I wanted to share a weekend guide to Atlanta with y'all!
Saturday Morning, Quick Breakfast at Bon Glaze
We got in pretty late Friday night, so by the time we unpacked we were ready for bed! However this meant we were well-rested for Saturday morning. So we rose a little earlier than normal and headed over to Bon Glaze for a quick bite! The girls grabbed an OJ and couldn't stop talking about how delicious their juice was.... meanwhile I was chugging my coffee since I typically make a cup of coffee first thing in the morning and couldn't because Emily isn't a coffee drinker (seriously who doesn't drink coffee?!)
Picking out our incredibly healthy breakfast was such a struggle. I mean with all these low-fat, no carb options to choose from how can a girl decide?! HA! I'm clearly kidding- well at least about the healthy thing. We were in awe of all the donuts to choose from, and with flavors like Key Lime, Bacon Caramel and S'mores how could a gal pick just one? So... we didn't.
Saturday Shopping at Ponce City Market
Emily knew exactly where to take us for Saturday shenanigans! We had so much fun exploring Ponce City Market, a wide open outside shopping market centered around a converted warehouse food market. Grab a quick bite at one of the many food walk-ups to hold you over until dinner while you shop at all the fun shop. Emily and I opted for a Chicken Biscuit from Hop's Chicken (highly recommend it!) while Laura grabbed a juice Lucky Lotus.
Before you leave Ponce City Market, be sure to stop by King of Pops and grab a cocktail or a popsicle, or both! Laura, Em and I loved the sweet pops to snack on in between photos and shopping but we so thankful to grab a seat at their bar and enjoy a margarita before heading out to dinner!
Saturday Dinner at Tupelo Honey Cafe
Speaking of dinner.... you can't leave Atlanta without eating at one of it's newest eatery additions- Tupelo Honey Cafe! This southern staple restaurant is the perfect place for dinner with your gal pals. Their small plates menu is everything you could ever want, from wings to delicious goat cheese to shrimp tacos. The choices are endless and are a good way to taste a little bit of everything without getting too full!
Sunday Brunch at The Southern Gentleman
We decided to head back Saturday night and watch movies and have a little girls night in since we weren't feeling up for going out on the town. Sometimes these are the best kind of nights! Sunday morning we woke up and headed to The Southern Gentleman for brunch, and I had no idea the meal my taste buds were in for! Everything was so delicious but I would have to say my favorite thing by far was the Farm Ricotta Fresh Farmer's Cheese. The toast was perfectly buttery and the bittersweet ricotta cheese and balsamic vinaigrette pairing was mind blowing. Also a little fun fact, each Sunday the bar tender creates a new mimosa- and if a new mimosa every Sunday isn't enough to get you there for brunch then I don't know what is!
We decided to head back to NC after brunch since it was somewhat of a trek back home. Atlanta was a blast and made for a great weekend getaway with my gal pals. The highlight of the trip was definitely spending all day in Ponce City Market. There was so much to see, do and eat I could have spent the whole weekend wandering around! Atlanta was so good to us, and I am so happy we made the trip. In the coming weeks I'll be breaking down everywhere we ate so you can get an idea of what to order when you get there, but for now be sure to follow me on snapchat (@corbintateblog) for more about my travels and my upcoming trip to Charleston this weekend for #TBSCon! If you've ever made a quick weekend trip to ATL let me know what you did, saw and ate down below in the comments!
